HJCL has organised a series of public health discussions across England to explore the impact of pneumococcal disease.
Pneumococcal infection has a huge impact on the health and wellbeing of individuals and families in England, and imposes a significant financial and economic burden on the NHS and society in general. As a common cause of meningitis, septicaemia, pneumonia and middle ear infections, pneumococcal bacteria are a major cause of ill health, permanent disability and death.
The meetings - in Bristol, Manchester and London - brought together professionals working in public health, health protection and immunisation to discuss how to raise awareness of pneumococcal infection, and to educate and inform people about vaccination programmes.
See www.pneumo.co.uk for more details.
Helen Johnson has recorded a short podcast for leading healthcare comms group, WCG, as part of their Thought Leader series. You can listen to the podcast here.
At today’s AGM, Helen Johnson was elected Chair of the Association of Professional Political Consultants (APPC) for the forthcoming year. HJCL Account Executive, John Spoors, was also elected to the APPC’s newly-established Young Consultants’ Committee. The APPC is the self-regulatory body for public affairs professionals operating in the consultancy sector.
HJCL is pleased to be supporting a charity fund-raising gig at the Fiddler’s Elbow in Kentish Town on Friday 8th May. This will be a great opportunity to see and hear four up-and-coming bands from across London. All ticket and bar receipts will go to help support the work of the MS Society. See the flyer for details.
It’s been a busy start to the year at HJCL. We’ve moved into a new office in Hatfield and John Spoors has joined the company as an Account Executive. It seemed like a good opportunity to revitalise the company website too. Do let us know what you think of the new look!
